Anastacia Dreams Exclusive Interview!

What themes are you hoping to include in your new album and are you going to try something new for some songs?
Hmmmmm, I am feeling inspired by my remixes… I think my voice could work really well with a club sounding vibe…

Are you going to join a record label again?
Gosh, I hope so!!! The music business had changed so dramatically in the last 5yrs… I feel grateful that I have been able to do interesting and creative projects while labelless like Here Come The Girls and the recent shows I did with the Belgium artist Natalia… I have my fingers crossed for a future cd release!!!

What is your personal favourite of your many image changes? Are you going to adapt another look for the next album?
I tried something different on the last cd… I had just gotten married, had a stronger sense of femininity shining through me at that time... I feel a resurgence of some of the old me now that I am single again and have sort of found a way to stay true to the strong side of myself and yet with a touch of the “lady”…

Will you ever sing How Come The World Won't Stop, Where Do I Belong or other songs you've never done before live?
I never say never!!! I don’t have any immediate plans for those songs... I am doing a duet with an Italian artist on Feb 14th at Radio City Music Hall in Ny that will be televised a few weeks after. It is a song that Elvis made a worldwide hit in the 1960’s called Surrender... We will sing this with a 45 piece orchestra and I never even thought I would do something like this sooo one never knows!!!

Is there anything coming up that you can talk about that we don't know about?
Ohhh gosh, there are some exciting things that I am not quite able to mention yet…I have plans to keep trying to do performances that my amazingly devoted fans can have access to come see like sooo many have done for these Natalia shows…

What do you prefer your fans to call you for short?
I really like my name, Anastacia… of course what has seemed to catch a theme on Twitter, I’m not mad at the nickname Queen... hee hee hee

What are you hoping happens in terms of your career within the next year?
I would love to know I was planning my own tour!!!!

Why were you in the studio with Duncan? Were you recording a song for their album or for another reason?
We became friends while doing the competition show in the UK called Don’t Stop Believing…He was in LA for some work stuff including a writing/studio session. He asked me to stop by and hang out and we all got a bit creative and came up with something which who knows if it will land on anyone's album but it was so much fun to be a part of!!

Is there any news on the reality show you were talking about?
Nothing as of now… lots of things are up in the air at the moment so I will have to see which projects land on the ground… I think it would be loads of fun to do a reality show but it also requires lots of access to my personal life and that is something to consider before deciding to say a firm yes to…

Anastacia at Radio City Music Hall - Feb 14th

Anastacia will be performing with Italian artist Gigi D'alessio on Feb 14th at Radio City Music Hall in New York. There will be a 55 piece orchestra. Other celebrity guests will be attending such as Liza Minnelli, Paul Anka, Sylvester Stallone and possibly Ricky Martin. The concert will be broadcasted after the event by Rai Uno who will be recording it. For tickets go to radiocity.com.

Natalia Meets Anastacia - Last Show 28/1/11

Last Friday night was the last show of Natalia Meets Anastacia in Belgium. There were a lot of tears and laughter too. This show really was amazing in every way and one of the best tours Anastacia has taken part in. I'm sure that it won't be the last time we'll see Natalia and Anastacia on stage together! Natalia meets Anastacia 21/1/11

During last nights show Anastacia did something really special for one of her fans, Nati, a member of The Official Fanclub. Anastacia announced that Nati was fighting cancer herself and brought her up on stage during Heavy On My Heart. Its such a moving performance, Anastacia holds Nati's hand throughout the song. You can watch a video of this below.

Anastacia now also appears to be completely crazy about the Marlies bras. Although we always thought that stylists bought clothes for big stars, Anastacia visited the lingerie shop in Antwerp in person. She left the store with many bags. Even Marlies said it was an extraordinary experience, she took her chance to take a picture and posted it on Twitter. You go, Marlies!"

Anastacia planning a tour?

In an article on Nltracks.nl it says that Anastacia might be planning another tour...

"Claudia Nelson's performance at THE Voice Of Holland did not bring her the succes she was hoping for. After the TV show the soulsinger has been busy. Because now she has planned a tour with the international Anastacia.
Anastacia is currently touring herself and has asked Claudia Nelson to join her. After her unexpected execution from the Voice of Holland she now found a new succes and can now add a new star to her list of international stars she has worked with in the past. She already cooperated with Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Chaka Khan.
For january 10 shows have been planned. Besides these shows she is also working on her own album. She is currently in the studio to work on her own songs. If All goes well the album Will be out mid 2011."

Anastacia at Kok O Vin and more

Anastacia dined at the Kok O Vin restaurant in Sint-Niklaas , Belgium yesterday evening. "She is very jovial," say owners Dominik Brewer and Peggy Bruynseels. She was accompanied by her band of four members and her sister. Later in the week the rest of her family will arrive, she will then have the necessary quality time out .

"Anastacia arrived at 19:30 and stayed until after midnight. She is someone who immediately tries to be at your ease; you're a bit nervous anyway for such an important visit. She then starts talking about the smooth cooperation between Natalia and her band. She is very common, and makes no excessive demands" say Brewer and Bruynseels.

And what are the culinary preferences of a world star? "She definitely does not eat red meat. That's taboo" said Dominik Brewers. "She loves quails, chicken, and she is crazy about fish. There should always vegetables in the dish and a lot of them. She is easily satisfied and chooses no unusual dishes. She also does not drink wine with meals, only flat water. "

NMA - Second show

Tonight the girls take to the stage at the Sportpaleis for the second time. Like last night, the show is almost sold out, so the Anastacia and Natalia will be playing to about 19,000 people! Anastacia has tweeted about tonight show saying "I'm Ready for Show #2!!! Let's Rock the Sportpaleis tonight!!!" Anyone that's going you will not be disappointed! Have a great night! Still always a little exciting, a premiere…Is everything goin to succeed like planned, is everybody’s voice there etc etc.
But all our worries where for no reason.
It was an amazing concert and from tonight onwards it will only get better.
Hours of rehearsals went into this, and the result can be seen.
Also the press was all in agreement with eachother that this was the best Natalia Meets in it’s history!
This is what we think about it as well, Anastacia and Natalia : that is the perfect match!
Who did not get a ticket yet, there are some left for January 18 & 28!

Natalia Meets Anastacia hits the mark.

The third edition of Natalia meets premiered on Friday in a sold out Sportpaleis.
For months fans and also Natalia where looking forward to the first concert of NMA.
The two Diva’s will give six concerts at the musictemple of Flanders.
One Diva is from the distant America, the other Diva from Oevel, but on stage you can’t tell which Diva comes from where, they are both equally good.

Afther The Pointer Sisters and En Vogue Ft Shaggy , now there is another edition that shows off alot of warmth.
This concert series is not just a series of concert that will be worked off, alot of heart and soul was put into it.
Not only by manager Bob Savenberg, but also by Natalia and Anastacia who was involved with the entire production.
She put the same amount of energy in planning this show as she would do her own shows, and this shows how big the little lady is.
Small in size she is, but what a voice and personality.
The singer from Chicago is 42 but glows on stage.
Put her together with Natalia on a stage and musical fireworks is a sure thing.

And that firework was given to the crowd during a amazing concert that fired of one hit afther another.
Drop a little, feeling, I want you back, Ridin’ by, I’ve only begun to fight and Higher than the sun where just a few of Natalia’s hits, who where or where not sung alone by Natalia.
But also hits from Anastacia where not missing, Paid my dues, I’m outta love , Sick and tired, Left outside alone where just a few of the toppers of Anastacia, who unlike The Pointer Sisters or En Vogue did not need an autocue for lyrics of Natalia’s songs, she memorized them all in her head, which just shows again how truly professional this singer is.

During Still with me Natalia was thinking about her recently passed away father, but during the show she did not talk about it, if she did she would not have been able to control her tears. Tears there where on the catwalk though, Natalia and Anastacia had teary eyes at one point.

At the pressconference afther the show, both ladies repeated that moment and shed a tear.
Anastacia was touched and greatfull for the chance to perform with Natalia.
Natalia hounerd her father, she was convinced that somehow he was there for the first concert afther his death.
Natalia’s family was also at the Sportpaleis to support her.

Last day before the show!

This afternoon there was still rehearsing in the Sportpaleis. The final details have been discussed, and tonight there is a final dress rehearsal - a walk through of the clothing. Everything is going smooth and it is clear that both women agree. When they burst on stage together sparks fly! And this is just a rehearsal, so it's promised for tomorrow ... because it is: SHOWTIME!

Natalia Meets Anastacia - Day 5 of Rehearsals

Soundcheck at the sportpaleis

In the past night the crew worked very hard in Antwerp, the entire production is rock solid, and it looks fantastic!
This morning we started with a soundcheck, first drums, then bass, then guitars, keyboards, percussion and backings.
Time for the band to get used to the gigantic stage!
In the afthernoon it’s Natalia’s turn, she will soundcheck first, and then go through the songs with the dancers. Afther that Anastacia will do her soundcheck.
Afther dinner tonight the entire show will be rehearsed in full for the first time.

Natalia Meets Anastacia - Day 4 of Rehearsals

Meanwhile at the sportpaleis….

"The stage had been completely been build, and it became a piece of jewelry. Tonight the mixingtable will be moved to the sportpaleis and the sound engineer will finetune the soundsystem. Because tomorrow the entire band will move to the sportpaleis. Then we will start with a soundcheck and rehearse a first run trough of the show. Little by little the entire production is coming together and everybody is getting ready for the first rehearsal on the stage. Add to this the dancers, and then you know there is a super show on it’s way!"

When a plan comes together…

"Today it is very busy at the rehearsalroom.
Natalia and Anastacia are goin through the songs they will sing together.
They will share the stage during 11 songs, and this needs to be rehearsed well ofcourse.
Need to decide who sings what and where.
This afthernoon there was also a little moment reserved for “De Maandagshow” and “Het Laatste Nieuws”, both came to check out the atmosphere. So keep a look out for those reports on VTM and in the newspaper.
This is the last day at the rehearsal room, tomorrow morning all will move to the sportpaleis for a first run through.

Natalia Meets Anastacia - Day 3 of Rehearsals

Update from the rehearsals!

"The Ladies are coming in!

Today all troups are being gathered in the big rehearsal room. The backings are joining in and since this morning the band got through all the Natalia music, who will sing with the band now. This afternoon Anastacia will go through her songs with the band, and tomorrow the songs that both ladies will sing will be rehearsed. The atmosphere is good, and everybody is putting their best leg forward to make this a strong show! Nobody has doubts about that…"

"Meanwhile at the Sportpaleis. While the music rehearsals are in full process , there is hard work taking place at the Sportpaleis to get the stage, sound and lights ready. And of course there will also be catwalks present, which gives our Diva’s the chance to get even closer to the audience. Later the entire stage will be pushed together and tomorrow all the lights will be pulled upwards. The videowall is already installed, and slowly everything will be in place. Ready for six amazing concerts."

Natalia Meets Anastacia - Day 2 of Rehearsals

News from today's rehersals have arrived!

"Leendert joins the band. This morning at 10:00 the first notes started flying around the rehearsal room of the Anastalia-band! Louder then yesterday, because today guitar player Leendert Haaksma joins the band. With his addition the band is complete. This morning the last songs of Natalia’s music are being rehearsed, and in the afthernoon Anastacia’s music is up next. Our Divas are still in Brussels doin their choreo, the crew of The Red Carpet show is dropping by, which will most likely air on Monday. Tomorrow everybody will join the band, backings and the Diva’s, and the rehearsals will start with the full formation. The works at the Sportpaleis are taking a one day break."

News from the rehearsals for the show appeared on the Natalia website today (thanks NataliaDivaFan for the translation):

"And we are off and running! This morning at 9:00 all members showed up at the rehearsal room of the Natastacia-band. Rightnow all instruments are being assembled and soundchecked. Around 12:00 the first notes will be played. A little beyond the rehearsal room we find the backings, today they will rehearse seperate and join in tomorrow. Natalia and Anastacia will not sing today, they are rehearsing all day in Brussels with the choreographer. Everybody has their happy face on and is ready to get started, a great show is in the making!"

"Meanwhile at the sportpaleis... While the band is goin tru the setlist, a team of 50 people is getting busy at the sportpaleis, with building the huge stage where Natalia and Anastacia will perform on as of next Friday. The basic structure is nearly finished, so the people of sound and light are ready to get started with installing all that. So to sum it all up , rehearsalroom 1 : the band is goin through Natalia’s music, rehearsalroom 2 : the backings are goin through Anastacia’s music, rehearsalroom 3 Brussels : Natalia and Anastacia are rehearsing the choreo, sportpaleis : building the stage, sound and light."
